What is a ‘Teachable moment’ that I have experienced?

 I used to train people how to make drinks at Starbucks. In my time working there I had many great opportunities to teach people how to prepare drinks. I introduced myself to a new person Jose who had some work experience but knew nothing about coffee. I had the opportunity to introduce Jose to the world of coffee. Starbucks had a training plan that was very introductory and I noticed that it really didn’t include real life experience that the job comes with. I could tell that Jose was very nervous to work with customers because he was kinda quiet but willing to work hard. I had him observe someone else working with customers I then transitioned to guiding him in how to welcome customers and correctly take orders. I helped him out by supporting his needs as an employee, I let him know that I wasn’t going to leave his side and I would be available for help at all times. I think instead of him feeling like he was alone doing work, I wanted him to feel as if we were a team taking on a challenge.
