Margarethe Drexel is an Austrian multi-disciplinary artist currently based in Los Angeles. Her work plays with the topic of heritage by raising questions about expectations through notions of home, tradition and religion.
Drexel studied Public Practice at Otis College of Art and Design, Los Angeles, at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna, Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee and Saar University of Arts, Saarbrücken, Performance, Digital Art and Sculpture; Philosophy and Art History at Leopold Franzens University, Innsbruck.
