Gabrielle Levine

MFA Public Practice, OTIS College of Art and Design, 2011

BA Evergreen State College

Gabrielle Levine completed her Baccalaureate Degree with an emphasis in Expressive Arts at The Evergreen State College in Washington State.  She returned to Los Angeles, set-up her studio, purchased a 1500-pound etching press and worked creating art.  During this time she was a docent at the Hammer Museum at UCLA and later worked part-time in the museum bookstore.  In 2009 she was an intern in Advancement and Membership at The Menil Collection in Houston, Texas.

As a graduate student Gabrielle worked part-time at the OTIS Ben Maltz Gallery, where she digitized and archived fifty years of historical gallery information to create a gallery database.  She represented the OTIS Public Practice Program at the national “Imagining America Conference”.  She uses painting and printmaking to emphasize environmental stewardship and the need to develop alternative sources of energy.  Gabrielle is a member of the Friends of the Evergreen Library Board of Directors.  She continues to support community non-profit institutions and donated a print to MOCA’s “2012 FRESH Auction”.
